Everything you need to spec, deploy, and support HiveRadar hardware and software, datasheets, manuals, FAQs, and use case briefs, all in one place.
Answers to common questions about HiveRadar kits, ordering, and support.
The HiveRadar WSSK (Wireless Site Survey Kit) is crafted for APoS surveys with customizable foam and a T-bar universal bracket for mounting APs. The HiveRadar RDK (Rapid Deployment Kit) contains all WSSK features but is designed to support the included outdoor AP (HiveRadar CWG) and replaces the T-bar with an outdoor magnetic pole mount. It requires a separately purchased SIM card and data plan.
Absolutely. You can use your own WiFi access point for temp WiFi access both indoors or outdoors. The WSSK includes a data-in ethernet port that can be connected to a RJ45 wall jack indoors and outdoors it can be connected to an external 4G/5G or satellite router. If you have your own cellular wireless gateway with a U-bolt, you can purchase our magnetic pole adaptor.
No, our kit is designed with a maximum stable height of 12 feet due to structural stability, weight distribution, and risk of damage to pole base threads. Many WiFi engineers compensate by reducing the power dB settings to manage signal strength and coverage area without overextending the structural limits.
Our latest WSSK v3 kit features a second RJ45 jack designed for data sourcing. This allows you to connect the kit directly to your switch or to a portable 4G/5G router using an RJ45 cable. The kit facilitates pass-through of this connection to an out port connected to your Access Point, particularly beneficial for cloud-managed APs requiring an internet connection on-site.
The 3G/4G version includes an integrated cellular modem for field connectivity, enabling use with cloud-managed APs where no wired Internet connection is available. Contact us for details and pricing.
DC power is more efficient than PoE at delivering energy to the AP, resulting in longer battery run time. PoE has conversion losses within the AP's circuitry that reduce overall efficiency.
Our stock kits are engineered to be universally compatible, accommodating nearly all market-available Wi-Fi units with a power draw up to 35W. Brands like Cisco, Aerohive/Extreme, Meraki, Ubiquiti, Aruba, Arista, and Ruckus have all been successfully tested. An optional PowerPack PoE++ upgrade is available providing up to 70W, as well as a 10G PoE++ option for high-capacity APs.
The HiveRadar WSSK v3 comes equipped with a universal T-Bar mount bracket designed to mimic a ceiling rail. If your Access Point includes a compatible ceiling rail clip, mounting it is straightforward.
Our standard bracket can accommodate APs up to 10 inches wide. Our XL Universal Bracket is an optional upgrade that fits APs up to 13 inches wide.
We have an optional two-piece magnetic adaptor that increases the diameter of the carbon fiber pole and protects the pole from damage. Using the magnetic adaptor, you can use the U-Bolt included with your outdoor AP. Please ensure the AP or antenna mount does not have a long arm, as side loading can compromise stability and damage the kit.
Our kit prioritises portability and single-person operation unlike cumbersome multi-box solutions from other vendors. Security is also a key differentiator: our design eliminates the need to leave cases unattended on-site. Optional TSA-approved lockable latches and an Airtag holder are available to further protect your gear.
Not at all! You are free to use any wireless site survey software that suits your needs. We offer software as an optional add-on or upon request, but the choice is entirely yours.
The case dimensions and weight meet the maximum specifications set by airlines. The included HiveRadar LiFePo4 battery is under 100Wh, which is the maximum allowable by TSA, FAA, and IATA.

You are certainly free to use your own DHL, FedEx, or UPS account. However, many clients find our negotiated UPS rates are more cost-effective. We encourage you to consider this option for better value and convenience.
No, all international orders require prepayment. However, if you are purchasing through one of our partners, they may have their own payment terms. Please reach out to us for more information.
Our kit, battery, and PoE power pack come with a one-year warranty covering manufacturing defects. The warranty does not extend to damages resulting from misuse or accidental incidents. In the unlikely event of an issue, we will either repair or replace the item under active warranty.
The feasibility of customization depends on the specifics of your project and quantity required. We invite you to contact us directly so we can provide a tailored response based on your needs.
