Cable Identification Guide
NUC Edition Cable Labels
On NUC Node Rear Panels:
- Labels are printed or attached to cables
- Format:
1A,1B,2A,2B,3A,3B - First digit = Node number
- Letter = NIC port (A = top, B = bottom)
On Keystone Panel:
- Jacks numbered 1-8
- Labels may be printed on panel
Power Cable Labels
NUC Edition:
- Node power cables labeled "1", "2", "3"
- Labels visible on DC power input connectors
- Match to corresponding PDU outlet numbers
Troubleshooting with Wiring Diagrams
No Network Connectivity on a Node
-
Check keystone jack connection
- Verify cable is securely plugged into correct keystone jack
- Use diagram to confirm jack-to-port mapping
-
Check switch port status
- Verify switch port LED is lit
- Confirm port is not disabled in switch configuration
-
Verify cable labels
- Ensure cable labels match expected configuration
- Check for swapped or mislabeled cables
Node Not Powering On
-
Check PDU outlet status
- Verify correct PDU outlet is enabled
- Use power distribution diagram to confirm outlet assignment
-
Check power cable connection
- Ensure power cable firmly connected to node
- Verify PDU outlet is providing power (check PDU display)
-
Verify power label matching
- Confirm node power label matches PDU outlet number
Finding Available Ports
For adding devices:
- Refer to "Available Ports" section in network diagrams
- Check "Complete Port Summary Table" for port status
- Ports 8-9 typically available on NUC edition
